Loans like LendPlus: which lenders are the same platform, and which aren't
Updated 26 August 2026
LendPlus is a registered short-term lender offering R500 to R4 000 over 65 to 90 days, with a decision in minutes and payout to a bank account or an eWallet. If you are searching for something like it, the first thing to know is that PrimeLoans, CrediWise and CreditBar run on the same platform: identical FAQ wording, the same eWallet payout, the same 23-to-62 formal-employment rule. They are alternatives in name; spreading applications across the four does not spread anything, so treat them as one lender family. The genuinely different options are Jabulani Money and Century Financial Services, and, for larger amounts or longer terms, the matching services that forward one application to a panel of lenders.
The same platform: PrimeLoans, CrediWise and CreditBar
PrimeLoans lends R500 to R4 000 over 61 to 90 days to first-time customers and up to R8 000 to repeat customers, and publishes the clearest cost example on the list: R2 000 over 75 days repaid at R2 610.42 including VAT. CrediWise lends up to R8 000 and publishes a 15-minute outcome. CreditBar lends R500 to R5 000 over 7 to 45 days, with payout within about an hour of approval in business hours. All three, like LendPlus, pay instantly to an eWallet at any hour. If you are choosing among them, choose on term: CreditBar for a loan you will repay from one salary, PrimeLoans or CrediWise for two to three months.
Genuinely different: Jabulani Money and Century
Jabulani Money is a registered lender (NCRCP22362) lending R500 to R5 000, with decisions in 10 to 25 minutes and transfers that typically post within five minutes. Century Financial Services lends R500 to R8 000 and pays the same business day once your DebiCheck mandate is confirmed: slower to the first rand, but a higher first-loan ceiling than LendPlus's R4 000. Neither shares LendPlus's platform, so a decline from one says nothing about the other.
For more than R4 000, or longer than 90 days
LendPlus stops at R4 000 and 90 days. Above that the product changes: R8 000 is the short-term ceiling under the National Credit Act, and beyond it a personal loan under the annual cap of the repo rate plus 21% is the cheaper structure. Letocredit and Finpug are matching services that forward one form to LendPlus, PrimeLoans, Jabulani Money, CrediWise and Century among others, which is several of the lenders above at once. Crezu, Creditum and Arcadia Finance match up to R350 000 over up to 72 months. None of them is a lender; each says so on its own site, and so do we on their review pages.
How to choose between them
Three questions. How long do you want: 7 to 45 days (CreditBar), 61 to 90 days (LendPlus, PrimeLoans), or months (a personal loan)? How much on a first loan: R4 000 (LendPlus, PrimeLoans), R5 000 (CreditBar, Jabulani Money) or R8 000 (CrediWise, Century)? And what does it cost in total for your amount and date? LendPlus and PrimeLoans both publish worked examples; our short-term cost calculator shows the legal maximum for the same loan, so you can see how far below it a quote sits before you sign the pre-agreement quotation.
Questions people ask
›Is PrimeLoans the same company as LendPlus?
They run on the same platform with identical terms and FAQ wording; LendPlus is part of the Aventus Group. We treat LendPlus, PrimeLoans, CrediWise and CreditBar as one lender family.
›Which lender is most like LendPlus but lends more?
CrediWise and Century Financial Services both go to R8 000; PrimeLoans goes to R8 000 for repeat customers only. CreditBar and Jabulani Money go to R5 000.
›Is there a loan like LendPlus for the unemployed or self-employed?
Not in this platform family, which requires formal employment aged 23 to 62. Grant, pension or self-employed income needs a lender that assesses it; the matching services cast a wider net but do not promise one.
›Are matching services like Letocredit the same as LendPlus?
No. Letocredit is not a lender; it forwards one application to lenders including LendPlus itself. You may end up with a LendPlus loan either way.
